Description
English, early 19th century. Set of three sterling silver entree dishes,oblong with paneled sides, conforming domed lids with entwined snake handles, floral & fruit repousse to each lid panel, 2 cartouches (one engraved with Order of the Garter encircled crest), numbered 1, 2, & 3 on the base with scratch weights. Hallmarked, London, 1791, maker's touch for John Wakelin & William Taylor. 6.75" H, 12 .25" x 8.65, 130.53 ozt total weight. Provenance: From a prominent Private Collection, Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition
All have some abrasions and scratches to interior bowl commensurate with use. Entree # 3 has a small black spot on interior bowl. Entree #1 has a dent to underside of top interior.
