ADO KO VERZUU painted club chars and table.
Ko Verzuu designed toys between 1935 and 1955, inspired by artists such as Gerrit Rietveld and Piet Mondriaan and educational innovators Maria Montessori and Friedrich Frobel. The toys were hand made by people recovering from tuberculosis in hospital. The title: ADO is an acronym for (Dutch) 'Arbeid Door Onvolwaardigen' (English: Labour By Lesser-Abled). In 1962 this name was changed to 'Apart Doelmatig Onverwoestbaar' (English: Unique Functional Indestructible).

'ado' metal insignia on back of each chair: 'ado Nederl Fabrikaat' (made in Netherlands).
Dimensions: Chairs: 9.2 cm hgt. x 9 cm. wd. x 8.7 cm. dp.
Table: 4.7 cm. hgt. x 7.9 cm. wd. x 7.7 cm. dp.
