Description
A most interesting Modernist butter dish and knife crafted of ebony wood and sterling silver by William Spratling, Taxco, Mexico. Impressed Eagle 63 and WS mark to blade and inlaid sterling WS plaque to bottom of dish. Probably 1960's - 1970's. Dish measures approx. 9 5/8" length x 2 7/8" width (24.4cm x 7.3cm) Knife measures approx. 5 5/8" length (14.3cm). Total weight approx. 315.9 grams.
