This lot consist of a framed fine art print on board. This detailed, almost apocalyptic image depicts a wagon nearly heading straight toward the path of a derailing locomotive. Reddish-black smoke bleeds from the huge stack on the front of the terrifying machine. An engineer leaps from the side of the train, as the driver of the wagon leans his full weight backward. A woman tumbles from the cart; the white horse's hooves pound dust into the air. A chaotic, split-second story. Done in the polished, mural-like style of the great Regionalist painter, Thomas Hart Benton (American, 1889-1975). A seal en verso bears the name of "The Kendrick Bellamy Co. of Denver", as well as the handwritten pencil inscriptions, "3291 H-2" and "8/7/69". Framed piece measures approximately 14" x 21.5". Image sight measures approximately 12.5" x 20".
