This lot consists of a print on recycled paper, published by Greenpeace and attributed to Banksy (British, 1974-). This powerful image depicts an absolutely barren landscape -- primeval forest leveled, nature obliterated -- in which the only life that remains is a pitiful cluster of beloved characters from Walt Disney's film, "The Jungle Book" (1967). Bound and blindfolded, they await their fates as a hooded executioner stands before them. Below the image, a simple message calls us to action: "SAVE OR DELETE.COM. A last chance to save the world's ancient forests."
Additional notes include the Greenpeace logo, "Image by Banksy", "Design by Third Planet International", and, "Printed on recycled material". Done in the subversive style of the enigmatic street artist, Banksy (British, 1974-). This unframed piece measures approximately 16.5" x 23.5".

Banksy is an anonymous English-based street artist, vandal, political activist and painter. Banksy combines dark humor with graffiti done in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.
