Yamamoto was a Japanese photographer based in Peking. He published pictorial souvenir books that captured daily scenes of life as well as historic sites for the tourist trade. This is the first of four editions published between 1906 and 1909. A rare and and exceptional work both historicaly and culturally significant documenting life during the Qing Guangxu Dynasty.
