Description
Antique ale tankard, made of thin-walled, hand blown opaque white glass. Hand enameled scene decoration with an Oriental theme. Lidded with a pewter and glass hinged lid, attached to the handle. Characteristic form and technique, known as "Stiegel type", after German-American master glassmaker Henry William Stiegel (1729-1785). Separately attached handle. Late 1700's-circa 1800.
