This lot features an original 1901 cast bronze painted figural vase by Hippolyte Francois Moreau (French, 1832 - 1927). H.F. Moreau was the second son of renowned sculptor Jean Baptiste Moreau. Moreau is known for producing fine examples of bronze sculpture often characterized by the romantic style and notion of innocence and beauty. Hippolyte exhibited for the first time at the Salon in 1859 and frequently exhibited his works at the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1889 until 1917. This piece would have been exhibited at the 1901 Salon. Signed "Hip Moreau Salon 1901" lower register near foot. Stands approximately 20" tall x 11" wide.
