Title: PASTILLAS VALDA
Dr. Henri Edmond Canonne invented in 1900, in Paris, the pills VALDA with the idea of ??creating a new drug to calm respiratory infections.
This pill, green with eucalyptus flavor and granulated sugar, was intended to relieve respiratory problems, colds and sore throats, for its antiseptic, soothing and soothing effects. The antiseptic components it contains are: mint, eucalyptus, thyme, palo santo wood and Landas pine.
Its composition: arabic gum, sweeteners (xylitol and sorbitol), glycerin, menthol and eucalyptus essential oil. Two versions were sold: the original and the sweet; and since 1988, a version without sugar for diabetics.
Dr. Henri opened a pharmacy in Paris, where he sold them. These pills had a great advertising and marketing campaign since its inception and its success earned him the Legion of Honor to the best exporter in 1911. In the 1920s he already exports to some thirty countries.
There are three hypotheses about his name: the first is the contraction of two Latin terms valetudo (health) and dare (give); the second that is the anagram of the street of Paris where Canonne sold his products (Rue de Daval) and the third that was a tribute to the name of a friend.
The VALDA tablets were also advertised through calendars. As far as I know, only two were published, in 1989 and 1990; and both with the printing company H. Fournier.
