Description
William Morris is known to anyone who admires the Arts & Crafts Movement and its trappings. He is the wellspring for many of the ideas that came out of that wonderful period of art and design. This book was designed to illuminate the essence of his art, the thing that inspired so many to carry on his ideas. Written by Aymer Vallance and published 1898 by George Bell and Sons (second edition). Illustrated with examples of William Morris’s work. Clean and solid with rubbing to tips and spine ends (one tip just barely starting to show evidence of unraveling). A couple of small places on covers have bubbled up where the glue has dried—it’s very small and barely noticeable against the dark green design. TEG. 7.75 x 11. 462 pp.
