Description
Factory Order Number 3xxxMade in the Kalamazoo plant in 1950.Gibson block logo.Mahoganny back and sides, dark sunburst on spruce top, ladder bracing, single bound top and back.Mahoganny neck, dark rosewood fingerboard, 19 frets, mother of pearl dot inlays, 24.75" scale length.Rectangular rosewood bridge with mother of pearl inlays.Small tortoise pickguard (larger pickguard is introduced in 1955).Non-original tuners with faux ivory buttons.A true vintage player is what you get from this interesting small bodied (14 1/8" wide) flat top.The frets are quite low and show little wear.Set up curently with light strings, little buzz is to be be heard and the overall excellent playability is helped by a comfortable c-shaped neck. The darker burst was used to hide a lower grade top, but this particular lightly figured spruce could have topped an LG2 or an LG3.As visible on the pictures, a lot of scratches, cracks and dings are found on the instrument especially on the top and the angles of the headstock.Fortunately, there is no structurally significant crack, the longest going from the bridge to the bottom in the center of the top does not affect the stability of the guitar.Comes in a recent non original black case.
