likely by Steiff, 1930's, no button or tag, underside of foot stamped (faintly) “Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse Design Patent Applied For”, Steiff made Mickey Mouse from 1931-1936 in 4, 6, 9, 11, 14, and 18in. Condition: Some wear to pie eyes, re-sew to nose at point of attachment, small velour split to nose at whisker remnants, re-sew around left thumb, some fabric wear to hands and fingers, metal support exposed through back of right hand, tail missing, seam split to one shoe, general wear and dust. Note: Charlotte Clark (1884-1960) created the first line of Mickey Mouse dolls in early 1930’s. These first production dolls were rubber stamped on the underside of the doll’s foot: “Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse Design Patent Applied For.” Clark’s character creations set the design standard for all Disney merchandising for dolls thereafter (Wikipedia “Charlotte Clark”).
