Description
North America, United States, ca. first half of the 20th century CE. A circular bronze compact with an internal mirror, a wool puff applicator labeled "Gainsborough Trademark Pure Wool," and a small clasp. The top of the compact has a layer of creamy yellow shell lining which displays the traditional Masonic square and compasses inlaid within a pair of glass-cabochon-adorned columns, above an incised rendering of a brick-paved walkway, and below the Eye of Providence, also known as the "all-seeing eye of God." The bottom face has several incised vertical columns. Size: 2.5" Diameter x 0.6" H (6.4 cm x 1.5 cm).
