DESCRIPTION: Two safety lamps. Includes: 1) "The Neverout" insulated kerosene bicycle/buggy or carriage safety lamp. Manufactured by the Rose MFG. Co. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Late 19th/early 20th century. Brass body with steel mounting bracket to one side, other side and reverse with a red/ruby 2" optical lens, and hinged door fitted with a colorless unpatterned 3 1/4" lens to front. 5" x 4-1/2" x 9-1/2". 2) Octo horse-drawn or motor vehicle driving lamp. Manufactured by Dietz, New York, USA. Circa 1908. Metal body painted black with With steel mounting brackets to either side, red/ruby 2" optical lens to back and 5-1/4" two glass lenses, and hinged door fitted with a colorless unpatterned 3 1/4" lens to front. 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" x 10". MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITION: Corrosion.
