18th Century Old Master Oil on Wood Panel Painting by Important Listed French Artist Jacqus Francois Joseph Swebach (1769-1823). The painting measures 17.3/4" x 14" x 7/8" at the outer wood frame, the wood panel measures 11 7/8" x 8" and together with frame weighs approximately 2lb 7oz.  The painting is not signed, the backing has in antique black ink Swebach.  Wonderful outdoor landscape scene with soldiers, soldiers on horseback, women, horses, 2 dogs.  great colors, the details are fantastic, various scenes with numerous people.  Swebach Desfontaines is well known for his military depictions and soldiers on horseback, there are numerous examples of his work at auction, his work is in many of the Famous Museums throughout the world as well as in private collections. Frame: 18" x 14"; Painting 12.1/2" x 8.1/2"
