Description
Roman, Imperial Period, reign of Trajan, 98 to 117 CE. AR Denarius, Rome mint. Struck ca. 114 to 117 CE. Obverse: Laureate and draped bust right. Reverse: Mars advancing right, holding spear and trophy. RIC II 337. Size: 0.7" W (1.8 cm); 3.5 grams. Also India, Kushan Empire, reign of Shaka, ca. 325 to 345 CE, Gold Dinar, Uncertain mint. Obverse: Shaka, standing left, sacrificing over altar and holding filleted staff; filleted trident to left. Reverse: Ardoxsho enthroned facing, holding diadem in right hand and cradling cornucopia in left arm. MK 593; ANS Kushan 1667-9. Size: 0.7" W (1.8 cm); 7.7 grams.
