Classically inspired walnut and verde marble Italian cabinet, late 19th century, having a molded cornice above a frieze centering a verde marble plaque flanked by relief carved acanthus scrollwork and panels depicting Leda and the Swan, interspaced with verde marble plaques, surmounting two doors centering a panel carved with a scene of Hermes, Aphrodite, and Eros, flanked by a panel depicting Aphrodite and Eros, and another depicting Hera, interspaced with columnar supports, above three frieze drawers carved with high relief putti masks and floral swags, rising on columnar supports resting on a low rectangular shelf, surmounting a frieze of swans and hippocampi interspaced with marble plaques, the whole rising on ball feet, 71.75"h x 59"w x 24.5"d.
