Description

A South Swedish peasantry "Rölakan" embroidery bedcover from the Skåne region. All over octogones with human figures, stars and bird motifs in geometrical shapes. According to the tradition, woven in two lanes with the classical interlocked tapestry technic and sewn together. Most likely made as wedding present, two sets of owner initials and dated 1839. 192 x 124 cm.
