Description
A Vintage Japanese lacquer, enamel and wood advertising store sign. Yokohama, Japan fish market, started business in 1931. The top kanji stands for "donation". At the top right side of the frame, the characters translate to "fish shop" or "fish market". At bottom right is the owner's name; Ishikawa and "gold' (in Japanese the word kin). The gold painted characters on the left side of the frame indicate an address in Yokohama. The center characters on the sign are the shop's / restaurant's name. Measures 17.75" x 13" x 1-1/8" deep.
