Item Details

Description

Lovely details in this Victorian mourning cape. It is heavy black velvet with jet beadwork throughout and trimmed with what appears to be Angora goat fur around the collar and edges. Also a long collar that can be worn up or folded down. This is a fully lined cape with inner pockets, all in silk with a heavy cotton fabric underneath and large hook and eye closures. Approx measures from shoulder to wrist 28", 5 1/2" wide collar, 29" long with the collar down, spread out open hemline length 164".

Condition

Needs restore, jet bead loss, repair to lining, replaced or repaired fur trim, wear to the velvet around the collar.
