Description
A WILLIAM IV MAHOGANY TELESCOPING READING TABLE, 1830-1837, ENGLISH, the rectangular top opening to a triptych support, the back lifting to ratcheting board, raised on a fluted column of the Doric order, segmented at center and fitted with brass mounted telescoping action, ending in a triangular, molded edge plinth base. Height: 31 1/2" Width: 11 3/4" Depth: 9 1/2" Provenance: Collection of Captain John Melmoth Dow.
Condition
Some surface wear, stains, mild chips, interior hinges likely replaced and have some bend with white residue, ratcheting support has some apparent repairs, central segment to adjust telescoping action now lacking, but overall in fair to good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
