The included letter states: Dear Sir In answer to your request for description of gold objects for sale I wish to submit the following information. The Gold Eagle has a height of 2 15/16 inch and breadth of 3 ½ inches. The Gold disk is 3 ½ inches in diameter. The eagle weights 70.3 grams and the embossed gold disk 20.30 grams. Both pieces are Veraguas from Panama and were purchased originallby by Dr J Alden Mason curatof of the University Museum in Philadelphia They were in turn sold to me for display in the American Indian Museum of Arts and Sciences on Long Island back in 1939. I was director of the Museum at this time. The eagle is beautiful and was cast no doubt by the Lost Wax process. It is perfect with the exception that one tip of a wing is broken near the end but fist perfectly and is easily placed in position for display. The disk is embossed sheet gold.
