Description
Black felt-tip pen souvenir drawing, Winged Dragon, executed on a Pan American "In Flight Air Letter", signed* and dated 1970 (Salvador Dali, 1904-1989). Dedicated "Pour Ben." 12 x 8 1/2 inches. Small edge tear (repaired but not profressionally), otherwise good condition. Unframed for pre-auction inspection and shipping.
Provenence: Ben(jamin) Thomas, Chicago, a souvenir (gift) from the artist. Acquired by the present owner's family from Rene Thomas, Benjamin's sister, sometime after 1995.
Lot Note: According to information provided to the consignor's family at the time of purchase, Rene and Benjamin Thomas met the artist while on vacation during the summer of 1970.
