Description
Ancient Near East, Anatolian, 3rd millennium BCE. A wonderful couple, both standing on a curved platform with their elongated abstract bodies positioned quite close, one affectionately placing his/her arm around the other. The figure on the left wears a conical helmet with a loop at the top end; the figure on the right wears a tiered hat with a pronounced brim. Their faces are almost bird-like with curved noses between their eyes. A very special pair in wonderful condition with gorgeous green and russet patina. Size: 4.125" H (10.5 cm); 4.375" H (11.1 cm) on included custom stand.
