Description
American Classical Carved Mahogany Fire Screen, late 19th c., with a scrolled top over a lifting cloth panel within scrolled supports, to splayed trestle legs joined by a scrolled stretcher, on casters, H.- 36 in., W.- 21 1/4 in., D.- 12 in. Provenance: Deaccessioned from the collection of Oak Alley Plantation, Vacherie, Louisiana. Proceeds to benefit future acquisitions for the Plantation.
Condition
Upholstery as found. Shows significant tears and fabric and needlework loss. Evidence of repair with both feet.
