Description
Production-made full-scale Xenomorph egg created for Alien vs. Predator from 2004. Part of the birth cycle of the Xenomorph aliens is large eggs with crab-like creatures called 'facehuggers' inside. In the film humans were exposed to these facehuggers and impregnated with a Xenomorph embryo that would burst out of their chest and grow to become large animals for the Predators to hunt. The surface of the egg is silicone and has movable flaps on the top, the insides of the flaps have tan tripe attached to them. The outside of the egg is painted in brown tones and the inside is painted pink. The silicone body of the egg is mounted over an internal aluminum frame and armature. The armature is attached to a series of cables that were used during production to open and close the flaps on top of the egg. The egg measures approximately 25 inches tall and 17 inches in diameter at its widest point.
