PAUL COLIN (JUNE 1892-JUNE 1985) "TABARIN" SILK SCREEN POSTER, 1928. The Tabarin was a popular nightclub in Paris originally making its reputation with the cancan. It stayed open long after WWI. In the mid-20s dancers infused the club with new life and Colin illustrated changing times using a multiple exposure that conjoined a trio of women doing the cancan, the charleston and a ballroom dance. Colin depicts the energy of Paris during the Jazz Age. Colin was named the most important designer of theater and music hall posters during the French Art Deco period. Artfully framed and a real joy to own. Acquired in the 1970s. Height: 29 & 23 in. by Width: 21 & 15 in.
