FOUCHÉ JOSEPH: (1759-1820) Convention Deputy and Minister of Police. A.L.S., Fouché, two pages, 4to, 27th August 1801, to the prefect of Liege, on his printed stationery as Police Minister, in French. The partially printed document bears a very attractive large vignette of the police Minister to the heading. The content relates to the Continental Blockade, Fouché stating `It is known that part of these wheat grains are stored in Liege, and we fear that the Dutch speculate with it with the English..´ Fouché asks his correspondent to take the necessary measures in order to grant that the wheat grain do not leave the French territory. With blank address leaf, bearing two red ink stamps. Very small overall minor age wear. VG £100-150
