Description
Made by Toledo craftsmen, and based closely upon the sword of the last Muslim ruler of Granada, Muhammad XII, known as Boabdil (1460-1533.) The grips of polished horn, the mounts elaborately engraved, pierced and silvered. The long, straight, double-edged blade with etched panels to either side. In its leather scabbard with mounts embellished en suite with the hilt. First half of the 20th century. Light wear. Overall length 109.3cm. Condition II
