Greece, Athens, ca. 449 to 413 BCE. A beautiful silver Athenian tetradrachm with Athena and Owl. Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena with olive leaves and spiraled palmette. Reverse: Standing owl with olive sprigs and crescent moon. Greek inscription "Alpha Theta Epsilon" (Athens) on right side of owl. Size: 0.95" W (2.4 cm); 17.0 grams
