Item Details

Description

Wedding Mule Chest, Hungary, Late 19th c., featuring original polychrome floral decoration to the front in baroque style carving and dated 1893. The lid lifts on original strap hinges to reveal trunk space including lidded candle box and secret compartment. The front boasts two split balusters over rectangular legs flanking dated panel with chamfered molding top and bottom over single hand-cut dovetailed drawer with original ceramic pulls. Painted pine with original wrought iron side handles. Size: 38'' x 48'' x 27'' (97 x 122 x 69 cm).
