Waltham Weight Driven Presentation Banjo Clock. 7 in. painted metal dial signed "Bigelow Kennard & Co., Inc" has black Roman hour numerals and original blued hands; brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed "Waltham Watch & Clock Co., USA, 6659", has maintaining power, Geneva stop, solid brass pulley original lead weight and mahogany pendulum stick with brass covered bob. Mahogany case has the typical banjo form with gilt carved fluted lower bracket, teardrop acorn finial, turned presentation spheres, brass eagle upper finial, brass bezel with convex glass and pierced brass side arms; original reverse painted throat glass with George Washington, reverse painted Mt. Vernon tablet. Case in cleaned and enhanced original finish, has extra holes behind the dial, minor inpainting with bubbling and light flaking to the reverse painting, upper tongue of the throat has been shortened, missing lockdown hardware front piece; running condition. 40 in. high x 10.25 in. wide x 4 in. deep. Weight: 17.25 lbs.
