Commander Cross, 1st Class, Civil, 68x46 mm, gilt Silver, both sides enameled, obverse with "BENE MERENTI", on reverse the cipher of
King Carol II, original suspension ring, loop and ribbon.
The Bene Merenti Order of the Royal House was initially founded on the 6th of June 1910 as the
Princely Hohenzollern House Order of Bene Merenti and took over by King Carol II with royal decree
the 16th of December 1935. From 26th of November 1937, swords could be added to any grade. This
order was replaced the 8th of March by the St. George order. Very rare and mint condition! I RR!
