FIRST EDITION OF BOTH BOOKS
The first of the two, very rare and sought after treatise, deals with the origin and meaning of the various characters, taking into consideration also the theories of Athanasius Kircher and Guillaume Postel regarding a common source of inspiration (divine) of written language.
The author demonstrates how the various letters reflect the structure of the cosmos by comparing cabalistic literature with hermetic and Pythagorean philosophy.
In the text it is possible to find several examples of ancient alphabets: very interesting the "scriptura caelestis" reported on page 135.
THOMAS BANG (1600-1661) was the first librarian of the University of Copenhagen Library and author of several works.
The second book written by JACOB LE BLEU (1609 or 1610-1668) is a political treatise (completely different from the work of Bang). Particularly interesting are the chapters De Imperio Tyranni and De Rebellione
Very good conditions
