Fine edition (the first was published in 1610) of this vast hagiography, the most complete and reliable of St. Charles Borromeo, much admired by Apostolo Zeno («Comechè molti abbiano scritta la Vita, niuno però pIù fondatamente, e pienamente la stese del Dottor Giussano», see Fontanini, Bibl. Eloquenza it., II, p. 313); it had extraordinary success, as to be reprinted several times (at least seven times during the seventeenth century), translated into Latin, and in major European languages.

Condition
Light traces of use to the binding (with a little tear at a band on the spine), traces of a leather label at spine (here detached), occasional spots very light browning. Overall, a very good copy.
