4to, 17th century stiff vellum with handwritten title at spine, pp. [12], 488, [i.e. 504], [56]; numerous errors in pagination; title-page in a typographical frame; woodcut initials and ornaments.
Second enlarged edition of this famous work written by the father crucifer Luigi Contarini (1537-1579), which became a best seller, being a singular Renaissance medley, where, in addition to more dissertations on various topics, there are also numerous short stories.
