Description

Deeply carved and painted Newcomb College scenic vase most likely done by Henrietta Bailey in 1929. Most impressive is the deep rose background color contrasting nicely with the Spanish moss laden oak trees. Marks include the Newcomb College logo, the date code for 1929 (RY 2), shape number 41, impressed monogram of potter Jonathon Hunt and the faintly incised monogram of Miss Bailey. Height 3 3/8 inches. Excellent condition with no crazing on the exterior.
