Description
Sea Green glaze vase decorated with vegetation and a swimming frog, the work of Olga Geneva Reed in 1898. Marks include the Rookwood logo, which indicates the date, shape 816 E, an incised G for Sea Green glaze and Ms. Reed's incised initials. There is fine overall crazing and a tight line descending from the rim. Height is 6 1/8 inches. This vase was featured in a Journal of the American Art Pottery Association article in 1998 dealing with the Japanese influence on American Art Pottery, a photocopy of which accompanies the lot.
