Description

ROYAL ART GLASS CO. LEADED SLAG GLASS HANGING LIGHT SHADE, light brown tones, ten panels with crown arches encased in brass trim, base with multi-colored floral and fruit pattern, crown band lightly handwritten "S. F. HANSELL", fitted with mounting bolt. Royal Art Glass Co. First quarter 20th century. 13 3/4" HOA, 20" D base.
Excellent overall condition, some scattered stress separations to panes, some light denting and scattered repairs to support bands, two large panes probably replaced.
Literature: Parallels Crist - Mosaic Shades Volume II, p. 321, top middle.
Provenance: From the Culver collection, Tom & Michael Andrews, Berlin, MD.

Condition

Excellent overall condition, some scattered stress separations to panes, some light denting and scattered repairs to support bands, two large panes probably replaced.
