ITALIAN GRAND TOUR CARVED MARBLE INKSTAND, gadrooned body fitted with brass sander, two wells, and three pen holders, sectioned cover and finial set with oval carved colored lava Classical profile cameos. Mid 19th century. 3" HOA, 5 1/2" DOA.
Good as-found condition, stand with hairline crack off sander well onto base, cover with shallow chip to underside of finial, upper cameo loose with minor roughness to edges, another cameo with a few minor edge flakes.
