CONTINENTAL CHELSEA-STYLE PORCELAIN ARTICLES, LOT OF 25, each having hand-brushed polychrome decoration with birds in a garden and gilded accents, comprising eight teacups, eleven saucers, and six 10" D plates. Each with gilded overglaze anchor mark to base. Probably Edmé Samson et Cie, Paris, France. Late 19th/early 20th century. Teacup 2 1/4" H.
Each with minor wear to gilding and each 10" D plate with some stacking wear to raised points along edges of center, 23 pieces otherwise undamaged; one teacup with two minute flakes to inner rim; one 10" D plate with a shallow chip to interior foot rim. Each 10" D plate with three ground manufacturing spots to reverse as made.
Provenance: Property of a Staunton, Virginia family.
