PAIR OF HENRY THOMAS ALKEN (BRITISH, 1785-1851) SCENES OF PERSIAN HORSEMAN, watercolor and pencil on paper, each depicting Persian soldiers wearing turbans and carrying spears on horseback in a open landscape setting. Each signed at lower edge and housed under glass in a modern frame. Circa 1820. Each 8 1/4" x 10 7/8" object, 17 1/4" x 19 5/8" OA.
Each in very good overall visual condition with minor discoloration. Not examined out of frames.
Provenance: Property of a Page Co., Virginia lady.
