Grouping of items related to the West Point (United States Military Academy) enrollment and graduation of Francis Blair III, Class of 1877 including; 1.) United States Military Academy gold ring featuring flat green with red inclusions polished stone. Ring presents interior inscription “Frank P. Blair, Class of 77, USMA”. Ring exhibits wear to surfaces. 2.) Military double-breasted cadet jacket in gray named in ink in back center interior “BLAIR”. Jacket exhibits 2 detached but included ball buttons (one with engraved initials) and one missing button. Jacket exhibits some wear with several small moth tracks. 3.) United States army officer’s dress pants that exhibit a red side stripe indicating artillery service. Pants exhibit wear with some small areas of moth tracking. 4.) Diploma for the “USMA Dialectic Society” issued to “Francis P. Blair Jr.” dated May 27, 1877. Document measures 20” x 15” and is signed by Howard A. Springett as president of the society and Edwin Forbes Glenn as secretary of the society.
