Very Rare Complete Set of 24 c. 1900 Royal Doulton Gibson Girl )Plates and a book. Gibson Girl black-and-blue decorated plates were made in the early 1900s. The "Gibson Girl" image was drawn by illustrator Charles Dana Gibson (1867-1944) to represent the peak of female beauty in the 20th century and was immediately a favorite with the public. The Twenty-four different 10 1/2-inch plates were made by the Royal Doulton pottery at Lambeth, England. These pictured scenes from the book A Widow and Her Friends by Charles Dana Gibson. Book has some wear, pages good, measures 17 1/2"x11 1/2"x1 1/2". Weight 35 pds all. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate
