Description
Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A miniature stone pendant, carved to be the shape of the head of the god of war, Mars (Ares). Featuring a large, military helmet, and a stern, bearded face, the pendant could be worn through a loop carved in the crest of the helmet. With beautiful detail for its size! Size: 0.75" W x 1" H (1.9 cm x 2.5 cm); 2.5" H (6.4 cm) on included custom stand.
