William Lionel Wyllie (UK, 1851 - 1931) Etching of a ship in distress. Pencil signed in lower margin. Wyllie gained wide acclaim as an illustrator and print maker as well, and he considered a large oil panorama of the Battle of Trafalgar, the exhibit of which was ceremoniously opened by King George V, as his crowning achievement. He was also involved in the restoration of the H.M.S. Victory. Sight Size: 4.5 x 6.5 in. Overall Size: 9.5 x 11.5 in. Framed behind glass.
