Description
A Tasmanian carved wood tribal War Club and decorated water gourd. Pieces acquired in Tasmania Australia during voyages sailing the South Seas and around Australia. Includes a large photo of Swift’s adult daughter, Amy holding the club and gourd and wearing a hand-made nut ring necklace. Amy Swift was born aboard the whaler in Hobart Cove, holding two large whale’s teeth. Present day Hobart is the largest city, chief port, and capital of Tasmania, Australia). The girl spent their childhood on the ship.
