Description
ASSORTED PRESSED-BASE WHALE OIL STAND LAMPS, LOT OF THREE, colorless, comprising a free-blown and roughed conical font with cut swag-and-tassel decoration, raised on a square base with extended, rounded corners, and two blown-molded pattern fonts, each raised on a baluster-form stem and panel-top circular base, wafer and wafer-less construction. Cut example with later brass fine-line collar, others with period pewter collar, one fitted with double-tube whale oil burner. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and Patrick F. Slane's American Glass Co., East Cambridge/South Boston. 1835-1857. 6 3/4" to 7 3/8" H.
Rounded-corner base with partial loss of one corner and flaking to others, adapter stuck in collar, others undamaged, one collar with bent top.
