Description
AN ANCIENT HELLENISTIC STYLE LOST WAX CAST MOLD, POSSIBLY THE ROMAN EMPIRE PERIOD (27 BC-AD 395), possibly Syrian, the subject appears to be a myriad folds, in the wet drapery and naturalistic style, carved of a chalky material with glossy black surface, now mounted to custom, cascading stepped oak base, with hand written paper label, "Palmaya/Palmyra 1st-2nd c. A.D." Height: 4" Width: 22 1/2" Depth: 11 1/2" NOTE: Hardness approximately 1-2 on Mohs scale.
Condition
Some losses, but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age.
