A PAIR OF ITALIAN ROCOCO STYLE CARVED WALNUT BOUDOIR WINDOW BENCHES, CONTINENTAL, LATE 19TH CENTURY, likely for use as a slipper chair, the serpentine scrolled and ruffled crest rail, with a profusion of pierced rococo style "C" scrolls, joined by spiral shell finial topped serpentine arms ending with carved hand terminals, above a bowed bench seat upholstered with cream damask surrounded by matching double pipe trim, raised on acanthus leaf encrusted cabriole legs, ending in scrolled feet on French toes, joined by a serpentine skirt. Height: 27" Width: 25 5/8" Depth: 18"

There are some losses of the carving, rubbing of finish with color variations, some loose joints, reupholstered after the original cane seat, back and arm panels slightly loose within groove mounts, some filled holes, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
